My Success Story As Made Possible By Dr Betta Edu

By Ambrose Edem

From Calabar South

I've come to realize that God raises men that are not even related to you to take you to His ordained/planned destination/position. I've been a close admirer and an ardent follower of Dr Betta Edu right from her days as Director General of the Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency. She has proven to be more than a leader and one who have refused to rest until her fellow Youths succeeds.

After losing out of my numerous job search, i decided to pick the Air force form, immediately that was done i had only one person in mind. I called her Media Aide Engr Ntem Kris whom i was opportune to have his contact through my friend and course mate Enik Ethorti (now in the Air Force too courtesy of Dr Betta Edu). He was even the one who looked for me as i admire his humility and commitment.

On meeting him, i told him i applied for Air Force and will wish he takes me to see the Commissioner Dr Betta Edu as i need her help, i saw a passionate smile on his face that scared/confused me and he responded, 'that is never an issue as the Dr Betta Edu that I know will gladly help you'. I gave him my Printout and a Bottle of Wine, he collected my Printout and asked me to keep the Wine as that wasn't necessary.

Without even meeting Dr Betta Edu face to face, i was successful in both the First and Second Stages. I thought I was being ungrateful for not at least going to show her the face of the person she's helping, so i visited her office with a drink, she rejected it and told me that her desire is to see me succeed and she'll do everything within her reach to send me to the Air Force with these words; "My desire is to see young Men and Women grow and my support won't be limited to my Constituency alone but will cut across the entire CRS and beyond. Ethorti was brought by one of my Aides and he's from Biase but the fact remains that he's a cross riverian and as such deserves all my support so by God's Grace you'll succeed."

I couldn't hold back that tears of joy as I knew she'll never leave me half way. She asked me to always keep in touch with Engr Ntem Kris if i can't reach her directly. And just a couple of days ago her Aide Engr Ntem Kris put the final call across to me again; "Commissioner said you should check the final list and get back to her immediately for a speedy follow up just in case." To the Glory of God, am the number 8th person in the final list of successful applicants under CRS which means I've been taken into the Nigerian Air Force Courtesy of Dr Betta Edu.

Dr Betta Edu has removed my family from shame, she has given me a voice, she has placed an everlasting food on my table and that of my family, she has given my poor parents hope again, she has restored our lost joy, she has proven to me that it must not be from my family or we must not come from the same tribe or religion or be rich for help to come.

I've never seen her kind, a lot of people I've always ran for help has either requested for money or insisted on my tribe/where i come from but this quintessential leader wasn't even interested in my name but my Registration Number as all she asked was, i hope you're from Cross River State? Again God has used Dr Betta Edu to change my story and that of my entire family.

Thank you very much my Honorable Commissioner, thank you very much a wonderful Mother. My entire family will forever be grateful to you. To you Engr Ntem Kris, what Ethorti told me about you is indeed true, he said you're a good man whose objective just like your Boss is to see your fellow Youths grow, God bless you for me Sir.
