ABI LGA goes Agog as Dr Betta Edu gives Christmas Largess and empowerment; 1000 bags of rice, 300 Chickens, 50 bags of Garri, 100 yams and financial empowerment

 



“We don’t give because we have enough… we give because we care enough".


It has been two days of endless giving, putting smiles on the faces of persons in Abi Local Government Area across all wards. citizens, less privileged, the aged and many others including party faithfuls got gifts from Dr Betta Edu.



Speaking at different points of distributions, Dr Betta Edu who is a know philanthropist with compassion for the down trodden and vulnerable in society thanked God for the gift of life and the relative peace Abi LGA has enjoyed this year. She praised Governor Ben Ayade for empowering Abi sons and daughters who are doing exploit in the state and beyond. She congratulated the Chairman Faraton Robinson for his great moves to bring peace back to Abi communities!



Dr Betta Edu said Abi has a lot to be thankful for, in Abi we now have the first Degree Awarding College of Nursing Sciences and Midwifery in south south Nigeria, our Secondary Health facilities and several Primary Health Facilities are undergoing massive renovations. Dr Edu said she has paid fees for all Pupils in Adadama ward of abi LGA and she will continue to pay as long as she has life and the means whether in Govt or out of Government. She also recounted the scholarship for everyone writing JAMB and scholarship for post graduate students from Abi and central Senatorial district.


She used the medium to advise the over 200 women who have been enlisted for empowerment that the should work hard to train their children even through university as that is the key to a greater future .


She called on Abi people to continuously follow the part of peace. Avoid the “drag him Down syndrome” support your leaders so the can create more opportunities for us!


The various ward leaders, party leaders, aged, vulnerable and even council chairman and Legislators poured encomiums on Dr Betta Edu noting that no political appointee has ever done such in Abi. Elder Bolaji Anani said “you have done what elected Political office holders should do. We are so proud of your exceptional exploits keep doing more!”

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR
