2023: CALABAR MUNICIPALITY LAUDS SEN. GERSHOM BASSEY'S ACHIEVEMENTS, PLEDGE TOTAL SUPPORT FOR HIS GUBERNATORIAL AMBITION




The Calabar municipality chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has hailed the senator representing Cross River South senatorial district, Sen. Gershom Bassey for his developmental strides recorded in the Senatorial District and across the State.


The PDP chapter chairman of Calabar Municipality, Hon.(Dr.) Otop Otop while addressing stakeholders in the event described  Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey as a man of capacity in term of integrity, accountability and performance in public service. He commended the senator for touching the lives of his constituents through improved primary health care delivery, rehabilitation of roads, and empowerment of youths and women even across the state. The Chairman pledged to educate and mobilise the people, especially those without permanent voters cards (PVC) to register in order to enable them vote in the 2023 election.


In the same vein, Member representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Etta Mbora lauded the excellent performance of  Bassey in the Red Chambers. According to the MP, " performance index will be a criterium for picking the next Governor of Cross River State, and whatever the people say to him, he will do.


The stakeholders declared their support for the senator and vowed to do all that is legally possible in ensuring that Sen. Gershom Bassey emerges as Governor of Cross River State come 2023. The Youth Leader, Deac. Amos Offiong expressed confidence in the senator's leadership style and stated that he is convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the Distinguished Senator will take the State to greater heights and sending him to the government house would be Cross Riverians joining hands to salvage the current predicaments faced by the state. 


Stakeholders reiterated their support for #Back2South campaign and urged Cross Riverians and residents alike to support the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 election. “The victory of  Gershom is a victory for all Cross Riverians worldwide and a victory for all patriotic sons and daughters of the Cross River who believe in democracy,” they added.
