The youths under the auspices of the " National Youth Council of Nigeria Cross River State Chapter" insisted that the Deputy Governor of the State should be handed over to the youths.

Speaking on behalf of the Younger generation, Comrade Dan Obo maintained that after their assessment Godwin is worthy to be the first to be called "Youth Ambassador".

Dan Obo explained that it is time for the South to produce the Governor, and the council is solidly firm with the governor and Obong of Calabar.

Obo went further to add that APC and YPP had given their flags to the South and the young people are going to ensure everyone has a PVC and vote in the direction of the South.

His youthfulness noted that he is a PDP man and his party is anti-Youths and they would hear from them.

He concluded that if APC found Godwin Nyiam fit for the position of the deputy governor, they will be comfortable that it has reached the youths.

In responding, the DG of DOPT Comrade Godwin Nyiam thanked the youths for the confidence reposed in him as a competent leader.

He added that he sees the true spirit of patriotism that has once ago become none resident in our consciences as being activated and what I'm seeing collectively, we would be able in the nearest future to liberate ourselves from the shackles and economic backwardness.

He let the youths know that power is not given but rather is taken.

"That we have come together as young people because is our responsibility to savage our state irrespective of party lines, me it is surprising to see the Youth Chairman, card carrying member of PDP is talking to a die heart APC member. If by any means I'm considered, the youths have no choice but to support me.

" It is, therefore, sacrosanct to give 75% of the young population a place as Deputy since the older generation had taken Governorship ticket, it will go a long way to influence the choice of young people. Godwin concluded
