PROFILE: Crossing many hurdles, Cyril Former SA Security Becomes Yakurr 1 Candidate for 2023 Elections




Yakurr 1 State Constituency will have a new House of Assembly member come 2023. He is Cyril James Omini.


After polling 17 votes at the primary, he emerged as the candidate for the All Progressive Congress(APC).


The other contender, Ubi Ekapong garnered 12 and Ubi Itam Ettah 11.

EARLY YEAR AND EDUCATION


Cyril James Omini was born on the 8th of October 1993 to the family of Sir James Omini Ubi and Mrs. Elizabeth James Omni. He is an indigene of Ugep in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.


Mr. Cyril James Omini had his nursery, secondary and tertiary education respectively at Madonna Montessori Nursery School, Calabar, Immaculate Conception Seminary Mfamosing, Calabar, and Constanta Maritime University, Romania.



CAREER


Hon. Cyril Omini, 2016 worked at Exon Mobil, Eket in Akwa Ibom State, and later resigned to join politics.


THEN POLITICS BECKONED


As a talented career young man who has the ambition of good prospect and a supporter of peace and promoter of unity he was appointed the Special Assistant Security (Yakurr), to the Governor of Cross River State, H.E. Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, an office he used in curbing civil unrest and other forms of insecurity in the Yakurr communities.


As the Special Assistant to the Governor, he ensured that cases of insecurity, cultism, communal clash, and all forms of civil unrest were properly managed for peace to thrive in Yakurr Local Government Area.


Because of his leadership potential and philanthropists, the younger generation triggered his interest in an elective position in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.


Hon. Cyril James, who is a humanist and a core philanthropist is currently the APC flag bearer for Yakurr 1 State Constituency in the 2023 general election. While the youths have proven to be the biggest Cyril's Agenda supporters, showing their support via social media and protests and street marches in his immediate constituency and diaspora. He remains the most preferred choice to represent Yakurr 1 State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly. His humble nature,  philanthropist and status as a major candidate have earned him a lot. 


Hon. Cyril James Omini received a Patron Conferment from the National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council (JCC) Cross River State.
