Permanent Secretary CRSMOH Commends Governor Ben Ayade And The Security Agencies Over The Release Of The Abducted Doctors

Recall that health workers who attended the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) training program supported by WHO in the State were abducted on the 18th day of November, 2022. Out of this, the female health workers in their midst were released as the abductors took into custody two doctors and other victims.

This heinous act caused panic and fear amongst the citizens of the State disrupting transport within the area of the incident as well as forcing the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) CRS to declare an industrial strike action.

However, the Ministry is most delighted with the good news this morning that the abducted doctors and other victims have been released unconditionally. As such, the CRSMOH under the leadership of Dr. Iwara Iwara and the CRSPHCDA under the leadership of Dr. Janet Ekpenyong wishes to express their sincere gratitude to His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, his dear wife Dr. Linda Ayade, his ever working Deputy Prof. Ivara Esu, the State's Commissioner of Police, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, and all other heads of security agencies for the swift response leading to the release of the victims.

I wish to call on Cross Riverians to continue to support the Government knowing that security is every man's business. We'll continue to support the good works and leadership of His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade and will continue to key behind his vision and prowess.

CRS under the leadership of Governor Ben Ayade will continue to remain peaceful as Cross Riverians will be protected and kept safe as promised and proven by our amiable digital Governor
