Tinubu Meets CAN: Tinubu will defend and support Christians; He will be a President for everyone, Religious Tolerance is key; let’s focus on improving Nigeria!- DR Betta Edu

“If I cannot Islamize my household, How can I islamize Nigeria, someday in this country will have a Christian- Christian ticket”- Asiwaju Tinubu It was a deeply engaging session between the APC Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the Leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). The Presidential Candidate of APC who was accompanied by his wife Pastor Remi Tinubu, the Speaker of the House of Reps, Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila, Governor Umahi, Governor Ganduje, Governor Hope Uzodinma, the National women Leader Dr Betta Edu, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Members of PCC and key stakeholders of the party. He promised to work closely with CAN Leadership to bring solutions to challenges facing the country. Asiwaju who clearly discussed his action plans told CAN that he is coming to make life better for Nigerians and will not bring sentiments into dealing with issues that concern Nigeria. He said as a president when voted in; his duty is to defend Christians and Moslem alike, he discussed core issues on energy, education, economy, security, health Agriculture etc and the solutions targeted at improving lives of Nigerians. He has also stated that as Nigerians we must focus on the issues that affect all of us, and who can fix it rather than play the religious divide card Asiwaju who is a man of the people, doesn’t know tribe or religious divide, he will work for Nigerians, he used the opportunity to dispel the falsehood around Islamising Nigeria noting that he is married to a pastor and if he cannot Islamize his house how can he islamize Nigeria. The head of the Anglican Church is in England. But today the have a prime minister who is Hindu. That does not in anyway affect Christianity, we need to go beyond religion and focus on competence of the people to deliver on their promise. I have done it before in Lagos state and I will do it again in Nigeria when given the opportunity. He called on the leadership of CAN to give their full support to his mandate. The CAN Leadership thanked Asiwaju and his team for the engagement while putting forward their document on how best the hope the Nigerian issues can be solved. The called on him if elected to work closely with CAN to fix Nigeria!
