ADIM GAS EXPLOSION:BIASE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN CONSOLES WITH VICTIMS'FAMILIES

Executive Chairman of Biase Local Government Council, Hon. (Chief) Ada Charles Egwu was in Adim Community to pay condolence visit to the family members of those who lost their loved ones after a gas explosion that occured on Thursday, November 24th, 2022.
The Council Chairperson, Hon. Ada Charles Egwu who also visited the scene of the incident, confirmed that the explosion has led to the death of 8 persons including a two years old baby leaving 2 others hospitalized.
Hon. Egwu said, "We are here on behalf of the Cross River State Government to commiserate with the family members of the deceased and to show that the Governor Ben Ayade-led administration care about their welfare

 "The fire disaster as an unfortunate incident considering the number of persons killed, properties destroyed and other persons affected directly or indirectly.

 "This unfortunate and ugly incident is an eye-opener for people to know the fact that selling flammable materials within a populated place is actually not the best" 

 The compassionate chairperson while calling on those engaged in the sale of flammable goods to always site their business in less populated areas or in areas designated by the government for such business, urges the family members of the deceased to accept the will of God which cannot be questioned and assured them that government will continue to support them. 

 It would be recalled that the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ivara Ejemot Esu, OFR accompanied by the Council Chairman, Hon. (Chief) Ada Charles Egwu (who was) ably represented by her vice, Hon. Oyono Ekpe, had on December 5th visited the scene of the incident. The Deputy Governor had assured the people and Chief of Adim of government support. 

 Speaking earlier, the Vice Chairman of Council, Hon. Oyono Ekpe while commending the state government for keeping to her promised of supporting victims of the devastating event, he thanked the council Chairman for the show of empathy to her people in the moment of grief. 

 Also speaking, one of the village Chief, Onun Omini Oyono expressed appreciation to the Government of Cross River State for their gesture. In an interview, a survivor/beneficiary, Mr. Echu Owai Ejogobe thanked Biase LGA Council Chairma and Governor of Cross River State as well as his Deputy, Prof. Ivara Ejemot Esu for supporting and standing by the people of Adim in times like this. 

 Highpoint of the event was a visit on the Adim Town Council led by the Clan head, Chief Etim Ofem Owai and presentation of food and non food items as well as cash to victims and family members of deceased.
