St Avi House of Creativity received Most Enterprising Fashion and Style Brand of the Year award the just concluded Spirit of Enterprise Awards in Calabar and also NOSILA WINES AND LIQUORS receiving Most Enterprising Retail and Trading brand of the year award. The All Progressives Congress Candidate for Yakurr 1 State Constituency, Mr. Cyril Omini (CY) was awarded the Emerging Political Leader of the Year 2022, at the Cross River State Spirit of Enterprise Awards 4th Edition held in Calabar recently. The event which was tagged " Cross River State Spirit of Enterprise Awards 4th Edition" saw the gathering of entrepreneurs and industry players from all walks of life receiving various awards for their contributions to the economic development of Cross River State. In recognition for his selfless philanthropic drive to sustain human capacity development, the APC Senatorial Candidate of the Southern Cross River Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong was honoured the Philanthropist of the Year Award. Other recipients of the event, included Nestvier Nigeria Limited who got the award of Most Enterprising Construction and Real Estate Brand of the year, YUTIEE MARTI LIMITED emerged Most Enterprising Agriculture Company of the Year, Brenda EFFIOM went home with the award of the Most Enterprising Education and Advocacy Personality of the Year. For his enterprising spirit TUNS-7 received Most Enterprising Manufacturing Brand award of the Year, Montee Dance and Arts Academy and Kalu Chijioke of Street Gospel Jamz got Most Entertainment and Lifestyle Personality of the Year award, Zinny Cakes and Events received Creative and Enterprising Brand of the Year while Hogis Luxury Suite went home with the Most Enterprising Tourism. In the legislative arm of government, Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo received the Legislator award of the year. At the legal sector, Mrs. Mina Hope Obeten founder of the E-lawyer Nigeria was awarded for Excellence and innovation. Speaking at the award ceremony the founder of Den Foundation, Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross River State on Entrepreneurship Development Mr. Great Ogban noted that the Spirit of Enterprise Awards is an annual events that is inspired by the Governor of Cross River State Sen. Ben Ayade to drive industrialization and entrepreneurship spirit in the state. He noted that he used this platform to celebrate entrepreneurs for their resilience, steadfast and commitment. " Cross River State Spirit of Enterprise Award is not just to celebrate entrepreneurs but to incite them to do more and add the to economy of the state... He added. SA concluded by thanking all entrepreneurs for being an inspiration and symbol of emulation in the State. Also Speaking is the Speaker and Senatorial Candidate for Central Senatorial District Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams who noted that for government is to create an enabling environment for business to strive and the results is what is being done and celebrated today. Williams used the occasion to charge all entrepreneurs and Cross Riverians to do more after receiving the award and With that you can achieve more when you work harder. He also thanked entrepreneurs for reducing the unemployment in the State, adding that God will continue to make entrepreneurs to shine and reward their efforts in Cross River State. In conclusion the Cross River State Spirit of Enterprise Awards is one platform that identifies, celebrates and honour Cross Riverians, who have contributed in the development of the state and have impacted in their various communities through their initiatives. Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. During the meeting, Engr. Egbe emphasized the importance of safeguarding all critical public infrastructure and ensuring close collaboration between the Ministry of Public Utilities and the NSCDC in achieving the Governor’s vision for a sustainable and secure state. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR
