State Health Commissioner Pays Unscheduled Visit To Ogoja General Hospital, Reiterates Government Uncompromising Commitment To Improve Healthcare Delivery

The Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr Janet Ekpenyong reiterated Cross River State Government's committment to improve health care services while applauding the management and staff of the Ogoja General Hospital for their coordination and professionalism in rendering health services including maternal and child health care services.
She made the commitment during an unscheduled personnel and facility tour to Ogoja Local Government Area in order to checkmate staff responsiveness and commitment to duties as well as identification of critical sections to be improved upon.
According to the Commissioner, the Ogoja General Hospital is one of the busy and improved Health facilities which have constantly had a touch of the Ayade's midas touch and a model for many facilities in the Northern Senatorial District due to its effective and uncompromising leadership over the years She said the quality and confidence of Pregnant women within the zone in the utilization of the facility is reflected on the antenatal records as well as the children vaccination records which averages an excellent scorecard for the region. The unscheduled visit which coincidentally collided with the facility's antenatal clinic day offered an oppurtunity to the State Health Commissioner to Interact and educate with pregnant and nursing mothers on the various demands for healthy child birth. She admonished them to maintain good and optimal dietary care, regular exercise and prompt medical checkups to avoid complications which may arise from pregnancy and Child birth, she also encouraged them to deliver in the health facility attended to by a skilled birth attendant. In his response, The Chief medical superintendent' ,Dr Ben Ajogbor congratulated the new commissioner over her appointment as he acknowledged her role in the standardization of the state health care system while serving as Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency. He said the appointment of Dr Janet Ekpenyong was welcomed with a resounding cheers as her competence and dedication to duty is unmatched ranked her achievements much unparallel to her contemporaries. He also promised to effectively deliver on the gains recorded in the facility in order to compliment the efforts of the state Governor, Senator Ben Ayade in making healthcare affordable and accessible for all.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR
