The Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC for the Southern Senatorial District of CRS, Mr. Asuquo Ekpeyong jnr. has admonished the people of the Southern Senatorial District not to vote for politicians who are looking forward to returning to the Senate just to gather enough money for their political retirement.
Suki as he is fondly called who spoke as guest on the HITFM flagship programme’ The public view’ anchored by Iwara Iwara added that most of his contenders have been in power for almost 25 years with nothing tangible to show.
Asuquo Ekpeyong assured Cross Riverians from the South that he was making his debut and will not do anything to jeopardise his chances with the people, unlike the others who had nothing to lose and were now perpetually seeking to cling to power.
He maintained that both candidates of the PDP and Labour party were recycled politicians who have refused to leave the stage for a breathe of fresh air.
The frontline Senatorial candidate remarked that the era where employment opportunities meant for Cross Riverians is traded off for money will be a thing of the past if elected.
He reechoed his resolve to fight and make a strong case for his people inorder to bring home their due,nothing that God has blessed him enough not to seek anything else but the betterment of his people.
“Vote for me, I am the one who cares about your Future, your children's Future, jobs, and the maximisation of our potentials".
According to him,he is in the race to win, and provide service and become the standard for good representation.
Reeling out his scorecard as the longest serving Commissioner for Finance, he disclosed that under his watch,Cross River State moved to the fourth position as the state with the best Fiscal policy and management, secured many international donations that help cushion the effects of the states debt and has kept its records clean and unassailable.
He disclosed that it was under his watch, the Payroll office was created which helped to digitalise payments, in time and eliminate ghost workers and wastage.
He implored the people to Vote massively for him as Candidate of the APC, as he was poised to deliver the dividends of democracy.
"You have tried everyone else running for this office with me, you know their tendencies and things are not going to be the same when I get elected I assure you".
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.
