CRSG UPS ANTE ON FIGHT AGAINST MALARIA, AS STATE PREPARE TO MARK WORLD MALARIA DAY AND LLITN CAMPAIGN

The Cross River State Government has reiterated her commitments on the fight against malaria in the state through the Cross River State Ministry of Health in Collaboration with other relevant agencies and health partners in a meeting convened at the Ministry's Headquarters Calabar.
In an attempt to model out effective plan for the success of the upcoming World Malaria Day whose commemoration is slated for the 25th of April, 2023 and the Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets campaign slated to begin in May.
Speaking at the high profiled meeting the Commissioner for Health Dr. Janet Ekpenyong restated that Cross River State Government has made great strides and conseted efforts towards the fight against malaria and will not rest on its oars to ensuring the disease is nipped in the bud and tackled to a bearable lowest minimum nay eradicated totally.
Dr. Janet who was full of commendations and praises for all the partners for their unflinching support, commitment and towering determination displayed in the ongoing planning process also reassured them that the State will continue to Collaborate with development partners and agencies to bridge existing gap for access to prompt effective health care services and access to quality care.
She described "Malaria as a health menace in the society which is very common and prevalent amongst us leading to uncountable number of deaths. However ,she was optimistic this years approach will go a long way to ameliorating the dangers posed by the killer disease".
Responding the ECEWS Chief of party Mr. Adeoye Adegbeye expressed his warm gratitude on the level of work he met on ground, the success stories and the ongoing interventions which he described as excellent.
Mr. Adeoyo said " One will always wonder why Cross River State has been a pace setter on several health interventions across the country, but coming to the the team and level of commitment put in place has answered that question seamlessly".
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Umanah Umanah ECEWS State Rep, Mr.Otoyo Toyo Deputy Party Chairman ECEWS, Dr. Pauline Obute PS SMOH,Mr.Ekpenyong Ekpenyong ECEWS SPM and Mr.Daniel Eneji ECEWS SBCC officer .
Other development partners at the meeting included WHO, Red Cross, BA-N, GHSC- PSM, SMEP amongst others.

BREAKING NEWS: Youths of Ikot Ansa Nab Vandals Destroying Public Utilities, Hand Over to Authorities for Prosecution

  In a combined effort to curb the rampant vandalism of public utilities in Cross River State, the youth leader of Ikot Ansa, Prince, Victor Otu Iso JR, alongside his community, successfully apprehended criminals involved in the destruction of vital public infrastructure. The vandals were caught red-handed this morning, 13th day of September 2024, as they attempted to steal Amor cables belonging to state transformers at Ekpo Iso. Acting swiftly, the youth leader invited the Special Adviser on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe KSM, and his counterpart on General Duties, Barr. Ekpenyong Akiba, to the scene. Engr. Egbe Commends Governor Otu for Flag-Off of Subsidized Mini Tractors Distribution
