The Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr Janet Ekpenyong has felicitated with Muslim Faithfuls in the state on the occasion of this year's Eid Mubarak Celebration signalling the end of the month long Ramadan exercise as she calls for peace and harmony among major religions.
Dr Ekpenyong who stated this in a congratulatory message noted that, the togetherness of the all and sundry is critical for the actualization of a new Nigeria which we all aspire and dream of for us and the generation yet unborn.
According to her, the state all through it's history has enjoyed a peaceful coexistence between the major religions and others which has profiled Cross River State as the most peaceful state in the federation.
Sha called for sacrifices to be made by everyone noting that , the last 29 days of intensed prayers and fasting which also coincided with the Christian's lenting season was divinely orchestrated to foster our relationship with ourselves.
She further called on divine help and prayers for the state both for the outgoing and incoming government to foster growth and development of all sectors .
She advised that celebration should be done responsibly to avoid medical and health emergencies and complications which may arise from food or liquid substance consumption.
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar. The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. During the meeting, Engr. Egbe emphasized the importance of safeguarding all critical public infrastructure and ensuring close collaboration between the Ministry of Public Utilities and the NSCDC in achieving the Governor’s vision for a sustainable and secure state.
