Internal Security: C'River Government to support Peace Corps to Complement Security Agencies

The Secretary to the Cross River State Government Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, has promised that the Governor will incorporate the Peace Corps of Nigeria into the security architecture of the State to complement the fight against insecurity.
Prof. Enoh stated this in an interactive session with the Peace Corps of Nigeria in Calabar during a Congratulatory courtesy visit by the Men and Officers of the Corps.
SSG said the baseline is security and without security, they would be no progress and development.
He added that the government is very interested in the security of the state and it is strongly believed that, the government will partner Peace Corps of Nigeria.
SSG concluded that the Governor is appointing the best, Square peg in a square hole and a round peg in a round hole and to achieve that Peace Corps will complement other agencies.
Speaking earlier the State Commandant Patriot (Dr.) Okweche, Dominic Odey noted that "we are here to congratulate you on your well-deserved appointment as the Secretary to the State Government. The Governor got it very right when he appointed you. We know your wealth of knowledge when it concerns administration"
"Some of us have been your fans from your days back as Provost in the College of Education Awi and Vice-Chancellor in the Cross River State University of Technology. We have followed your antecedence very closely and we believe in your capacity to deliver".
Dr. Okweche concluded that the Peace Corps of Nigeria is also ready and prepared to partner with the Government in homeland security because of their training in intelligence gathering and being very close to the locals as well. This will enable them to function optimally.
The high point of the visit was a presentation of a congratulatory Card to the SSG amongst others.

​UNICROSS Announces 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening, Introduces 19 New Programmes

​The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has officially announced the commencement of its First Choice Admission Screening Exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session .
