... Deploys Medical Officers To Primary Healthcare Depts. In Boki, Etung LGAs

Cross River State Government has engaged new medical officers to boost health services especially in underserved rural communities in the state.
Addressing the new doctors, Thursday, in his office in Calabar, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk assured the doctors that Governor Bassey Otu is determined, in line with his 'People First' mantra, to strengthen human resources for health through adequate enabling environment.
He assured them that the conditions of service for health staff would have no significant differences with their colleagues employed anywhere else in the country.
"The doctors have since been deployed to general hospitals Calabar, Akpabuyo and Odukpani, while one doctor each has been sent to the primary healthcare departments in Boki and Etung LGAs that have no public hospitals.
"The engagement of doctors and other critical staff is ongoing process aimed to ultimately address the current human resource gap in the State, with seven doctors engaged in the current batch," Ayuk stated.
The Health Commissioner appealed to Cross Rivererians to be patient, as the Bassey Otu-led government is making concerted efforts to reinvigorate Cross River's health care system.
