IPU 2023: Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong calls for further support for Digital Transformation in Nigeria


The Nigerian Senate Representative to the 2023 Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference (IPU), Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong has stated that Nigeria is at the cusp of participating effectively and dominating the 4th Industrial Revolution.


He made this known during the main session of the 2023 Inter-Paliamentary union conference currently holding in Hanoi, Vietnam. The senator pointed out that Nigeria has a comparative advantage with its large youth demographic who are very innovative and technologically knowledgeable. This he posited will greatly enhance Nigeria’s ability to participate effectively and dominate the 4th Industrial Revolution. He said that while it maybe argued that Nigeria and by extension, Africa has shown up to previous Industrial Revolutions a bit tardy, this 4th revolution will be dominated by Nigeria. Senator Ekpenyong further called on the Inter-Parliamentary Union to support the country in furthering the Digital Transformation agenda.


The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is the global organization of national parliaments founded in 1889 as a small group of parliamentarians, dedicated to promoting peace through parliamentary diplomacy and dialogue, it has since grown over its 135 years into a truly global organization with 179 country members out of 193 countries in the world. The IPU facilitates parliamentary diplomacy and empowers parliaments and parliamentarians to promote peace, democracy and sustainable development around the world.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements.
