OTC: SENATE COMMITTEE AND NUPRC STRENGTHEN TIES WITH CHEVRON VISIT




In a resolute move to enhance collaboration within Nigeria's Oil and Gas sector, the Commission Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), led a delegation to the Chevron Control Facilities. Accompanied by members of the Senate Committee on Upstream, spearheaded by Senator Eteng Williams, the visit comes on the sidelines of the 2024 Offshore Technology Conference(OTC), in Houston, Texas, USA.


The purpose of the visit was to bolster synergies among stakeholders in Nigeria's Oil and gas industry. The delegation, comprising key figures from NUPRC and the Senate Committee, engaged in extensive discussions and inspections at Chevron's facilities, aiming to deepen understanding and cooperation between the regulatory body and one of the industry's major players.


Engr Gbenga Komolafe emphasized the significance of such engagements, highlighting the imperative of collaborative efforts to ensure sustainable growth and development within Nigeria's petroleum sector. He stressed the importance of proactive measures to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities in the ever-evolving energy landscape.


Senator Eteng Williams echoed these sentiments, underscoring the Senate Committee's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for investment and innovation in upstream petroleum activities.
