LIGHT UP CENTRAL: SENATOR ETENG WILLIAMS ILLUMINATE OBUBRA URBAN WITH SOLAR-POWERED STREET LIGHTS

The Senator Representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Senator Eteng Jonah Williams has facilitated the installation of solar street lights in Obubra urban in Obubra Local Government Area as part of his ‘Light Up Central Project’.

This first phase of the solar lights which was installed from the popular Obubra junction along Ikom/Calabar Highway into Obubra urban would enhance security and tackle socio-economic challenges of the people considering the importance of light to human and societal development. The solar street lights would, to a great extent, curb many nefarious acts during dark hours, thereby contributing to the security measures in society.

Senator Williams, however, enjoined the benefiting community to safeguard the solar lights jealously in their interest and for the overall development.

In a combined effort to curb the rampant vandalism of public utilities in Cross River State, the youth leader of Ikot Ansa, Prince, Victor Otu Iso JR, alongside his community, successfully apprehended criminals involved in the destruction of vital public infrastructure. The vandals were caught red-handed this morning, 13th day of September 2024, as they attempted to steal Amor cables belonging to state transformers at Ekpo Iso.
