APC Commences Campaign in Yakurr LGA Ahead of November Elections, Receives Strong Community Support

 



Yakurr Local Government Area witnessed a vibrant kickoff of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign on October 28, 2024, as chairmanship candidate Mr. Yibala Igiri Inyang and his running mate, Pastor Obeten Keppy, visited several wards to rally support ahead of the November 2 elections. 



The campaign team received an enthusiastic welcome across communities including Assiga, Nyima, Nkpolo/Ukawen, Abanakpai, and Mkpani-Agoi, as chiefs and community leaders pledged their unwavering commitment to the party.



In his address, Mr. Inyang underscored the APC's dedication to inclusive governance that honors the vital roles played by men, women, and youth in the area. 



Emphasizing Yakurr’s diverse strengths, he acknowledged the unique histories and contributions of each community, noting Assiga’s rich heritage, Nyima’s solidarity, and the agricultural importance of Mkpani and Agoi.


The candidate promised that his administration would prioritize infrastructure, economic development, and public safety.


Mr. Inyang presented a detailed plan, which includes road reconstruction projects for Ekori/Assiga and Nyima/Assiga, establishment of a community sports center to empower youth, and implementation of community policing to enhance security.


Additionally, he outlined strategies to boost agriculture through modern techniques and support for local farmers, ensuring food security and job creation across Yakurr. 


Furthermore, he pledged to work with stakeholders to fulfill these goals, fostering a Yakurr that reflects the aspirations of its people.


"We are building a Yakurr for everyone," Mr. Inyang said, calling on residents to join hands for a brighter future. 


He thanked the communities for their support and expressed his commitment to serving with integrity and purpose, promising sustained engagement with all stakeholders as the campaign intensifies.
