"Education Will Remain A Major Priority In My Administration" - Pst. Mrs. Mercy Nsor

 


The APC Chairmanship Candidate for Ikom LGA, Pst. Mrs. Mercy Nsor has reiterated her commitment to prioritize Education when elected into office. Pst. Nsor stated this earlier today when she Chaired the 5th edition of the "Voice Of The Street Spelling Bee Competition" involving various Secondary Schools in Ikom LGA.


The APC Chairmanship Candidate, who was ably represented by Elder Ntem Chris, one of the major Leaders/Elders of the National Association of Ikom Students Worldwide [NAIS WW], reemphasized the Chairman's commitment/dedication to prioritize Education alongside Infrastructural Development, Good Healthcare Services, Agricultural Development, Peace/Security amongst others.


"I'm here under the directives of the APC Chairmanship Candidate, Pst. Mrs. Mercy Nsor couldn't make it as planned as a result of her engagement in other pressing issues. She has asked me to reassure you that, when elected, she'll put Students Education as her number one priority because, as a literate, she's not ignorant of the importance of education.


This competition will help our students to learn and expand their vocabulary, it will improve their language, boost confidence in their language, help them to develop critical problem-solving skills, and also encourage them to always read hard."


The APC Chairmanship Candidate, Pst. Nsor assured the Students of her continuous support for the Program, as she will see to it that the Spelling Bee Competition becomes a yearly event.


This year's winners in the Junior Category are Master Vincent Chidiebube Victor of Pythagoras Nobles Academy, emerging First; Miss Otuokwa Peculiar Sunday, emerging Second while Miss Bessong Chosen Ochi, still of Pythagoras Nobles Academy, emerging Third.


The Senior Category had Master Ndoma Majority Minem of Foresight Schools emerging First, Miss Onyemuche Victoria Ogochukwu of the Pythagoras Nobles Academy emerging Second while Master Agbor Future Oguma, also a student of Pythagoras Nobles Academy, emerging Third.


Pst. Mrs. Mercy Nsor, while Congratulating the Winners, expressed her satisfaction with the level at which the Women are competing with the Men academically; she encouraged the participants and all other Students of Ikom LGA to study hard and make both their parents and the LGA proud.


The event ended with the Winners going home with Cash and Material prices, and huge Financial and Material support also came from the APC Chairmanship Candidate.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements. UNICROSS ACTING VC EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER DAMAGE OF UNIVERSITY STUCTURES AFTER RAINSTORM IN CALABAR
