Senator Eteng Williams Trains 200 Constituents On Agric Entrepreneurship As Each Trainee Gets N120,000 Startup Fund

 



Distinguished Senator Eteng Jonah Williams representing Cross River Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly has again facilitated another landmark training for over 200 constituents on Agric Entrepreneurship. 


The two-Days intensive program which commenced on Thursday, 14th November and ended on Friday, 15th November 2024 at Gold Palm Hotel, Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State, saw participants drawn from the 66 wards of the Senatorial district being trained in various aspects of Agric entrepreneurship.


Declaring the event open, Senator Eteng Jonah Williams represented by the Newly Appointed Secretary of Ikom Local Government Council, Hon. Edo Owan charged the beneficiaries of the two-day training to utilize the knowledge acquired to improve their economic status,  become self-reliant and employers of labour to boost the overall Gross Domestic Product of the nation.


While acknowledging the current hardship Nigerians are facing, Senator Williams's representative disclosed that training of such nature will avail constituents of opportunities to improve their standard of living.


He equally pledged that, as usual, more of these life-changing programs will be facilitated by Senator Eteng Williams to the benefit of more constituents.


During the training, participants were groomed in areas that included: Piggery farming, local crops farming, irrigation farming, Fertilizer application, Accessing Funds for Small Businesses, Sales and Marketing of Agricultural Products, etc. 


Each of the beneficiaries also received a start-up package of One hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (N120,000) and a certificate of participation at the end of the two days of training including irrigation pumping machines and fertilizers shared in groups. 


Reacting to the opportunities given through the training, a beneficiary from Ekpashi Ward in Boki local government, Etta Joseph Abun thanked the lawmaker for giving him and other constituents the privilege to participate in the training.


According to him, he has been exposed to greater opportunities through which he can become economically independent to cope with the present challenges in the country.


Another participant, Madam Celestina Brenda Oyama from Ovonum Ward in Obubra Local government area thanked the facilitator and the organiser of the training as she confirmed that the training has helped her with new opportunities to be a successful businesswoman in the area of Agribusinesses.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr.
