Yakurr Local Government Chairmanship Election: Yibala Inyang Receives Certificate of Return




The Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) has officially presented a Certificate of Return to Mr. Yibala Igiri Inyang, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following his victory in the November 2 Chairmanship election for Yakurr Local Government Area.



During the presentation ceremony held on Sunday, Dr. Ekong Bocco, the Chairman of CROSIEC, extended his congratulations to Mr. Inyang and the other newly elected chairpersons. 


Dr. Bocco stated the vital role of local government councils in democratic governance, stressing the need for leaders to fulfill their campaign promises and to address the responsibilities that come with their positions.


Reflecting on the recent elections, Dr. Bocco noted the decisive success of the APC, noting that the party's sweeping victory across Cross River State symbolizes a significant shift in the state's political landscape.


“With the APC securing all 18 chairmanship seats and 196 councillorship positions, the party has solidified its influence in local government administration across the state,” he remarked.


In his acceptance speech, Mr. Yibala Igiri Inyang expressed deep gratitude to the people of Yakurr for their overwhelming support.



"This achievement is a testament to the trust, unity, and commitment of the people of Yakurr,” 


“I am sincerely grateful for the confidence you have shown in my leadership and for the substantial votes that made this victory possible. This moment belongs to everyone who envisions the progress and prosperity of Yakurr.”he stated. 


Mr. Inyang pledged to lead with transparency and integrity, assuring residents of his dedication to addressing their needs. 


"This certificate signifies the beginning of a journey to work tirelessly for the betterment of every community in Yakurr,”.


 “Together, we will confront challenges, foster new opportunities, and create a brighter future for all.” he added.


He Concluded his remarks and thanked the people of Yakurr once again for their unwavering support and assured them of his readiness to lead the local government into an era marked by growth, unity, and development.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr.
