Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, Welcomes Hope Udoaka After MVP Win at ELICRIS Championship

 


The Chairman of Canaan Table Tennis Club, Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, has congratulated Hope Udoaka on being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the female category at the 10th edition of the ELICRIS National Table Tennis Top 32 Invitational Championship. 


Duke commended her exceptional performance, noting that she displayed remarkable skill and determination throughout the competition.


Duke emphasized that Udoaka’s triumph is a testament to the club’s commitment to grooming young talents in Cross River State. He further acknowledged the support of Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, who is proud of her outstanding achievement.


Hope Udoaka, representing Canaan Table Tennis Club of Calabar, emerged victorious after defeating Sukurat Aiyelebegan 4-2 in a thrilling final. Her win secured her the title of National Women’s Champion in the tournament held on December 23–24, 2024, at the Chief Molade Okoya Thomas Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos. The event was organized by the Lagos State Table Tennis Association (LSTTA) in collaboration with the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) and BAA Foundation.


Speaking about her victory, Udoaka attributed her success to Rt. Hon. Orok Duke’s unwavering support. 


“All thanks to God and Rt. Hon. Orok Duke for making it possible for me to attend this championship. 


His efforts in supporting and promoting table tennis players in Cross River State have been key to my progress. It’s a great joy to successfully defend my title once again,” she said.

Engr. Jerome Egbe Visits NSCDC Command for Strategic Partnership on Public Utilities

  The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr. Dr. Jerome Egbe, KSM, today, October 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, Mr. Brown Charles, in Calabar.  The visit centered on establishing a strategic partnership to protect and secure public utilities across the state from vandals and criminal elements.
