Teaching, Cascading of Financial Regulations are Key to Public Civil Servants: Former Permanent Secretaries Ministry of Finance tells successor




Two former Permanent Secretaries of the Cross River State Ministry of Finance Dr. Effenji Ferdinand Odey and Barr. Gabriel Ikang had on Friday, 10th of January, 2025 call for the teaching and cascading of financial regulations to public civil servants in the state. They disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the current Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance Ajah Francis Ajah at the office premises in Calabar.


The former Permanent Secretaries praised the recent coordination and the several achievements of the finance ministry and emphasized the need for sustenance. Dr. Odey has an excellent wealth of experience having served as Director of Commerce following his return to Nigeria and later was appointed Permanent Secretary in the Cross River State Ministry of Finance in 2004, while Barr. Gabriel Ikang, FCA is an accomplished public servant 


Responding, Hon. AF Ajah, thanked the former permanent Secretaries for the visit and the thought of still having the state at heart even after retirement. And that their advocacy concerning the teaching and cascading of financial regulations to public civil servants remains pivotal to civil service in the state in line with the Governor’s vision as contained in the people’s first mantra.

​UNICROSS Announces 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening, Introduces 19 New Programmes

​The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has officially announced the commencement of its First Choice Admission Screening Exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session .
