Senator Eteng Williams Honored at UNICAL’s 50th Anniversary Award Ceremony

The Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Senator Eteng Williams, a distinguished alumnus of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), was honored on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at a special award ceremony marking the institution’s 50th anniversary in Calabar, Cross River State.

Also recognized at the event were President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, former Minister Dr. Betta Edu, and other distinguished alumni of the university.

The ceremony featured an anniversary lecture review, the unveiling of the “UNICAL @ 50” book by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, the cutting of the anniversary cake, and a toast to UNICAL @ 50.

Dignitaries present included the Emir of Kano and Chancellor of UNICAL, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the Pro-Chancellor, DIG Udom Ekpoudom (rtd), and several senators, including Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Senators Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Osita Ngwu, Titus Zam, Sunday Karimi, and Asuquo Ekpenyong, among others.

UNICROSS Announces 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening, Introduces 19 New Programmes

The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has officially announced the commencement of its First Choice Admission Screening Exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session . The university has also unveiled 19 newly approved undergraduate academic programmes across its campuses.
