As we commemorate the second anniversary of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu and his dependable Deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, I cannot help but reflect on the extraordinary journey they have undertaken together. It is with immense pride and heartfelt gratitude that I convey my appreciation for the diligent efforts that have led to significant advancements in our beloved Cross River State.

Over the past two years, our Governor's visionary leadership has paved the way for notable achievements across diverse sectors. The Civil Service has witnessed a radical institutional transformation with internal discipline, implementation of promotions, prompt payments of salaries, allowances, pension and gratuity as per due process. In Agriculture, the establishment of a digital soil test maping system and the substantial distribution  of Agricultural farming inputs, gravitating from mere peasant farming to a robust industrialized farming system across the 18 Local Government Areas. Healthcare, innovative policies have improved access to quality medical services, ensuring the well-being of our citizens. With his human oriented investments, he has reinforced our primary healthcare infrastructure, making strides towards a healthier population.

In the realm of Government Infrastructure, Your Excellency's commitment to developing of new roads and, bridges, completion of the abandoned Local Government Service Commission building, remodeling of the Governor and Deputy Governor's Offices, lodges, State Library, Cultural Centre Complex and the essential utilities has laid a solid foundation for economic growth and improved living standards. Our tourism sector, recognized for its natural beauty and cultural heritage especially with the recent celebration of 20 years success of the improved Carnival Calabar, has been revitalized, attracting both local and international tourists and boosting our economy.

Security remains a paramount concern, and under the Governor's guidance, we have enhanced safety measures, creating a secure environment for our citizens and investors alike. This focus on security has been crucial in establishing Cross River as a safe haven for foreign and local investments, encouraging development partnerships that are vital for our progress.

Education has not been left behind; strategic initiatives have been implemented to enhance learning facilities and broaden opportunities for our youth. By fostering intergovernmental relations and effectively engaging with the elders of our state, we are building a cohesive vision that benefits all demographics, particularly the youth and the burgeoning middle class.

Leveraging our rich resources, we have transformed our state into a viable destination for aviation through the progress so far made in the Obudu Cargo Airport, facilitating enhanced connectivity that supports commerce and tourism.Your efforts to build a conducive environment for business have been recognized by the diplomatic and business communities, positioning Cross River as a beacon of opportunity. Rural Electrification has been boosted with the recent migration into clean (Solar) energy accross the State.

The remarkable achievements we celebrate today are the direct result of our collective endeavors, driven by a shared vision. I also express my sincere gratitude to the Chairman,  National Assembly Caucus (Senate - Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe), Chairman National Assembly Caucus ( House of Reps  - Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba), the dedicated members of the National Assembly, as well as Cross River State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Elvert Ayambem and members of the 10th Cross River State House of Assembly whose unwavering support has been instrumental in this journey. Together, we are strengthening the fabric of our state, ensuring that our progress greatly impacts every community.
