Eteng Jonah Williams has led nine out of the eleven National Assembly members from Cross River State to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Edet Otu as the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s sole candidates for the 2027 general elections.

The high-profile endorsement was announced on Thursday during a press briefing held in Calabar, the state capital, under the auspices of the Cross River APC Caucus in the National Assembly. The lawmakers commended the performance and leadership style of both Tinubu and Otu, describing their achievements as impactful and deserving of consolidation through re-election.

Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, representing the Central Senatorial District and leader of the APC Caucus, emphasized that the administration of President Tinubu has shown clear commitment to national transformation, pointing to landmark projects and progressive reforms.

"President Tinubu is a leader with vision. The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the student loan initiative, and numerous economic reforms stemming from the fuel subsidy removal are proof of his commitment to sustainable development. These initiatives are already yielding benefits for Nigerians, and we, from Cross River, are giving him our full endorsement for 2027," Sen. Williams stated.

Speaking further, Senator Williams threw the full weight of the Caucus behind Governor Bassey Otu, stressing that his developmental strides across the state have rekindled hope in the APC-led administration.

“From the rejuvenated state library to improved security through the launch of Operation Okwok, and visible projects in every local government—including in my own village—the Governor has demonstrated capacity.

He and his deputy have worked selflessly, and we are convinced they deserve a second term. For the sake of peace and progress, we endorse Governor Otu as our sole governorship candidate for 2027,” he added.

The endorsement signals a united front among APC lawmakers from the state and positions both Tinubu and Otu on firm ground ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The nine lawmakers who signed onto the endorsement include:

✓Sen. Eteng Jonah Williams – Central Senatorial District (Leader of the APC Caucus)
