Standard Unity Cup Continues as Akamkpa 1 Face Akamkpa 2 Today

The excitement of the Standard Unity Football Tournament 2025, popularly known as the Suki Unity Cup, shifts to Akamkpa today as Akamkpa 1 lock horns with Akamkpa 2 in a highly anticipated constituency playoff match.

The crucial encounter will kick off by 4:00 pm at the University of Education & Entrepreneurship Football Pitch, Akamkpa, as both teams battle for the sole ticket to represent Akamkpa Local Government Area in the knockout stage of the tournament.

The playoff has received strong goodwill and encouragement from key political leaders in the area, including the Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Area, Hon. Felix Akposi, as well as the Members representing Akamkpa Constituencies I and II in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Okon Owuna and Hon. Linus Bassey, who has all given their blessings to both teams.

Organized under the umbrella of the Standard Ambassadors (Suki Ambassadors), the Unity Cup continues to promote youth engagement, sportsmanship, and unity across the Cross River Southern Senatorial District through competitive football.

Football lovers, supporters, and residents of Akamkpa are encouraged to turn out in large numbers to cheer their teams and be part of a tournament that celebrates unity, discipline, and community pride.

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Public Utilities, Engr.
