Orok Duke Hails Governor Otu’s Three Years of Transformative Leadership




The Cross River State Representative on the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, Ph.D., has congratulated the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Sen. Apostle (Dr.) Prince Bassey Edet Otu, on the occasion of his third anniversary in office, describing the milestone as a celebration of purposeful leadership, visionary governance and visible impact across the state.


In a goodwill message commemorating the Governor's three years in office, Orok Duke commended Governor Otu for his unwavering commitment to the People First agenda, which he said has continued to redefine governance and accelerate development across critical sectors of the state's economy.


According to the NDDC State Representative, the administration has recorded remarkable achievements in infrastructure renewal, economic revitalisation, agricultural development, investment promotion, tourism, environmental sustainability and human capital development, positioning Cross River on a trajectory of sustainable growth and prosperity.


He particularly applauded the Governor's deliberate interventions in the agricultural sector, including the flag-off of the 2026 wet season farming programme and the distribution of yam seeds, soybeans and fertilisers to farmers across the state, noting that such initiatives have strengthened food security, boosted agricultural productivity and enhanced livelihoods in rural communities.


Orok Duke further noted that under Governor Otu's leadership, Cross River has regained its status as a preferred investment destination, citing improvements in public infrastructure, institutional reforms and strategic partnerships aimed at creating jobs and expanding economic opportunities for citizens.


"Three years ago, Governor Otu assumed office with a clear vision to place the people at the centre of governance. Today, the results are evident in the numerous transformational projects, policy reforms and development initiatives that continue to positively impact the lives of Cross Riverians. His administration has demonstrated that leadership anchored on service, accountability and inclusiveness can deliver meaningful progress," he stated.


The former Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly also lauded the Governor's efforts in promoting peace, unity and political stability, describing them as essential ingredients for development and social cohesion.

As the administration marks its third year in office, Orok Duke expressed confidence in Governor Otu's capacity to consolidate on existing gains and deliver even greater achievements in the years ahead.


He wished the Governor continued wisdom, strength and divine guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities, while reaffirming his support and commitment to the shared vision of building a stronger, more prosperous and globally competitive Cross River State.

BREAKING NEWS: Youths of Ikot Ansa Nab Vandals Destroying Public Utilities, Hand Over to Authorities for Prosecution

  In a combined effort to curb the rampant vandalism of public utilities in Cross River State, the youth leader of Ikot Ansa, Prince, Victor Otu Iso JR, alongside his community, successfully apprehended criminals involved in the destruction of vital public infrastructure.
