The Cross River State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Dr. Pius Edet Ankpo, has inspected the ongoing Mkpani–Agoi Road project in Yakurr Local Government Area to assess the level of progress and ensure compliance with established construction standards.
The inspection is part of the ministry’s routine monitoring efforts aimed at ensuring quality delivery, tracking project implementation and identifying areas requiring further attention.
Upon completion, the road is expected to improve connectivity among communities, ease transportation challenges and facilitate the movement of people, agricultural produce and other goods within Yakurr and neighbouring communities.
The project aligns with the infrastructure development drive of Governor Bassey Edet Otu’s administration under its People First policy, which prioritises improved road networks and sustainable development across Cross River State.
Speaking during the inspection, Dr. Ankpo reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to delivering durable, high-quality road infrastructure that will enhance mobility, stimulate economic activities and improve the living conditions of residents across the state.
