Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has inspected areas affected by the recent landslide to assess the extent of the damage and review ongoing response efforts.
The inspection focused on the urgent need to restore damaged roads and other critical infrastructure, improve access to affected communities, and address the concerns of residents impacted by the incident.
Speaking with journalists during the inspection, Governor Otu assured affected communities that both the state and federal governments are committed to providing the necessary intervention to restore the affected areas.
The Governor noted that comprehensive rehabilitation would be more effective after the rains subside, allowing for more sustainable reconstruction and restoration of the damaged infrastructure.
The inspection was led by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Dr. Ankpo Pius Edet, alongside other government officials, who assessed the extent of the damage and reviewed ongoing emergency response measures.
