Christmas Day Outreach: Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Visits Calabar Correctional Centre, Offsets Inmates’ Fines

On Christmas Day, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, his wife Nela, and associates, paid a compassionate visit to the Calabar Correctional Centre, extending hope and relief to inmates in the true spirit of the season. During the visit, the Senator committed a total of ₦10 million in humanitarian support. This included over ₦5 million to offset fines for inmates, many of whom have remained incarcerated for years over the inability to pay fines as low as ₦90,000, ₦3 million to enable inmates celebrate Christmas with dignity, and ₦2 million as support for correctional staff. Christmas Party: Mrs Nela Ekpenyong Celebrates Christmas with Over 800 Children of Cross River South

  Over 800 children, parents and community stakeholders on Tuesday,  the 24th of December 2025, converged at Channel View Hotel, Calabar, for the Cross River South Children’s Christmas Celebration organised by Mrs. Nela Ekpenyong, wife of the Senator representing the Senatorial District. The event, which provided a platform for fun, learning and social interaction, featured games, music and dancing, snacks and treats, as well as gifts and surprises for children drawn from different parts of the district. Dr. Orok Duke Distributes 420 Bags of Rice, Oil in Cross River Christmas Outreach

  The Cross River State representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Orok Otu Duke, has successfully concluded a two-day Christmas outreach programme, during which essential food items were distributed to key institutions across the state. The outreach, carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday, was designed to support public institutions and security formations during the festive season. Items distributed included bags of premium parboiled rice and bottles of vegetable oil.
