Ordinarily, we would not respond to unfounded criticisms that are baseless, factually inaccurate, about the operations of government institutions and the objectives of Tinkoriko . However, having read the comments that followed the post by Onoyom, we consider it necessary to respond—not because Rt. Hon. The leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has impeached its Chairman, Effiom Edet, over allegations of gross financial misconduct, high-handedness, incompetence, abuse of office and lack of accountability. Edet was removed from office on Wednesday 2nd September 2026, following a majority motion at a long-awaited meeting of the council held at the IPAC state secretariat, with 16 state party chairmen in attendance. The members reportedly questioned Edet’s leadership style, accusing his administration of operating in secrecy and failing to adequately consult other political party chairmen on decisions affecting the council.   The Directorate of Alumni Relations, University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), is set to host a historic gathering of graduates from the successive generations of institutions that have occupied the university’s Calabar Campus, Ekpo Abasi. Tagged “ Different Institutions Eras Meet and Greet ,” the event is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the New Mass Communication Block of the Calabar Campus. The interactive gathering will bring together alumni of the defunct College of Technology Calabar , which later became The Polytechnic Calabar (POLYCAL); graduates of Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH); and alumni of the present University of Cross River State (UNICROSS).
